Under direct supervision, the Respiratory Therapy Assistant performs diagnostic and therapeutic respiratory procedures to patients with uncomplicated cardiopulmonary and related disorders; participates in the education of patients, and assists with general department functions.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- Education: Proof of active enrollment in accredited Associates Degree Respiratory Care Program.
- Experience: Completion of basic Respiratory Care clinical rotations including Oxygen and Bronchodilator therapy.
- Licensure: Licensed by the State of Michigan within 2 years of placement in this classification or within 6 months of graduation from Respiratory Care program, which ever occurs earlier.
- BLS Certification.
- Skills & Abilities: Decision making skills, communication skills, organizational skills, basic computer skills and demonstrated clinical competence as identified above.
