Assists the Director, Construction and Real Estate in ensuring that projects meet program needs and are completed within budget and schedule parameters.
Leads project management team which consists of technical support staff, architectural and engineering consultants, information systems personnel, customer groups and others as necessary; coordinates activities related to the management team to ensure project success.
Oversees project implementation process, including work change orders and field coordination, according to policy.
Ensures program requirements are met, maintaining customer focus while guarding against excess.
Ensures project compliance with requirements of insurance carriers and regulatory agencies.
Directs project design such that DMC standards for materials, function and appearance are maintained.
Ensures projects are executed safely, complying with DMC safety manual, JACAHO and other regulatory requirements.
Ensures consultant activities are consistent with contracts; reviews invoices to verify DMC funds are appropriately spent.
Monitors activities for and ensures compliance with laws, government regulations, JCAHO requirements and DMC policies.
As directed, implements external and internal audit recommendations.
Ensures hospital departments achieve objectives for diversity of their suppliers.Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. A minimum of three years experience facility planning, project management, and/or construction management.
3. Licensure as a Professional Engineer or Architect desirable.
