Manages the daily non-medical activities of assigned departments by developing policies and procedures, preparing budgets, ensuring adherence to the approved budgets and supervising departmental personnel as delegated; monitors quality of departments operations and recommends changes as appropriate.
Monitors activities for and ensures compliance with laws, government regulations, JCAHO requirements and DMC policies.
As directed, implements external and internal audit recommendations.
Ensures hospital departments achieve objectives for diversity of their suppliers.
1.Recommends action on matters involving staffing, work flow, selection, training and discipline of subordinate levels of personnel.
Completes periodic performance reviews on subordinates; recommends increases.
Enforces hospital policies and regulations.
2.Assists in budgeting and or clinical, technical or program analysis.
Monitors and communicates compliance with existing practices; recommends changes in policies and procedures.
Researches and recommends equipment purchases.
3.Prepares annual manpower, supply and capital equipment budgets for assigned pediatric departments.
4. Reviews and monitors departments adherence to approved budgets; prepares monthly variance reports; initiates corrective measures as required.
5. Develops departmental policies/procedures in accordance with hospital/university rules and regulations, accreditation standards, and state/federal guidelines to ensure efficient operation of department.
6.Maintains accurate, current and comprehensive statistical data on departmental operations; prepares and submits routine and special reports to management on departmental operations, budgetary variance, and recommended operational changes.
7. Conducts meetings to convey information and/or discuss department goals and objectives, policies and procedures or operational problems.
8.Investigates and resolves problems related to the departments operation or personnel; advises management of major problems and recommends appropriate corrective action.

Bachelor's degree in Health Services Administration or Business Administration, or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
