Directs the complex revenue cycle functions for hospital site and ambulatory sites.
Reviews and audits revenue cycle departmental utilization of information systems and business practices.
Analyzes data and identifies process issues and opportunities to enhance number of billable services and reduce back end rejections.
Performs audits to ensure all charges are captured and billed appropriately.
Determines impact on overall operations, explains effects, develops responses/solutions and communicates with appropriate personnel.
Prepares reports that include analysis and interpretation of data and identifies trends which impact the revenue cycle.
Provides technical expertise and guidance to staff.
Identifies and helps resolve system weaknesses that impact the revenue cycle.
Ensures system upgrades impacting the revenue cycle are properly executed by personnel.
Develops project work plans for all upgrade phases and monitors compliance related to system upgrades, enhancements, or new application installs that impact the revenue cycle.
Controls project progress and prepares status reports as necessary.
Performs audits to identify training deficiencies in registration areas, and ensures all staff are properly trained.
Leads process improvement efforts that impact the revenue cycle to ensure revenue cycle activities contribute to financial viability and long-term organizational success.
Acts as liaison and resource person for user departments.
Develops procedure manuals for Patient Management for revenue cycle functions.Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related area or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Four or more years of progressively more responsible analytical experience in the revenue cycle continuum from patient access through reimbursement.
